You will research your expected starting salary upon graduation as a RECENT COLLEGE GRADUATE. Do NOT put in average salary for your chosen career. If you google average starting salary, that could be a number for mid career professional and will lead you to conclude that you will earn a much higher number. Most recent college graduates have jobs in range of $40,000-60,000, though higher numbers are possible (cyber security analyst or computer science for example). You MUST provide a link to the website you used to find your salary.
After you have a starting salary, you will calculate 4 taxes: Social Security, Medicare, Federal Income Taxes, and State of Connecticut Income Taxes. If you plan on working for a different state, you can use that state or default back to CT. I give you the percentages for SS, Medicare, and CT taxes, but not Federal. You will use tax bracket provided in the spreadhseet below.
