Every group member will review five recent articles or dissertations (published in last 6 years if possible) on the topic of teaching math concepts and skills with students with High Incident Disabilities (HID) :Learning Disabilities, Social-Emotional Disorders, Autism on the milder end of the spectrum such as Asperger’s Syndrome, Cognitive or Intellectual Impairments, and Attention Deficit Disorder. You may update the research in related areas to the foundational readings (e.g., self-determination instruction in the HID middle schoolers) or review different methods of research (e.g., more qualitative research studies) or focus on sub-categories such as age or gender areas (e.g., more recent research in teaching math strategies with female adolescents with HID). The members within every group should coordinate their efforts so that duplications of research articles are avoided. Note: Several studies may apply to more than one High Incidence Disabilities, which is to be expected since students share some similar symptoms and issues across disability categories. No more than 2 pages each article.
