Task 1: Develop a primary research survey with five to seven questions about your family, friends’, or peers’ coffee use.
Task 2: Using the Internet, research the size and scope of the coffee market in the United States or globally. Look for data such as total revenue for the coffee market and how that revenue breaks down between different categories (coffee shops, grocery store coffee, etc.). Also look for current and expected growth rates, as well as other information, such as amount of coffee consumed per capita, the largest coffee growing countries, and the breakdown of sales for different types of beans.
Task 3: Research the identity and size of the largest coffee companies in the United States or globally. This will include companies with coffee stores (e.g., Starbucks) and other brands that sell coffee (e.g., Green Mountain).
Add your findings in an essay format. Based on your findings, what is the difference between primary and secondary research? What are some common sources of secondary research data?
