• Identify two important themes/ideas that stood out to you from the reading/lecture in relation to a social problems perspective (contradictions, structure, intergroup conflicts, theories specific to the lecture or the class like critical constructionism etc).
Provide a brief description of those themes and why you think they are important from a social problems perspective. In weeks where there are both readings and lecture, you will need to choose one theme from the lecture and one theme from one of the readings. When no readings are required, you can choose both themes from the lecture.
• Describe one way that you could use one idea from the lecture or reading to better understand or act in a real-world setting (social change, connections to existing knowledge, opportunity for further education etc).
• Come up with one question (more information needed, how could a difference be made in the real world, how does this connect to the class, what the bleep/#$@&%*! does that mean?) that came to mind as you navigated through the reading/lecture.
• Provide one response to one of your peers (more is fine, but only one response is required). While it may be most fruitful to try and answer one of their questions, you can expand on the importance of one of the themes they identified.
