I am in the Child and Youth Care Counseling program. We are to write a 7 page paper where we examine our personal values and beliefs. At the end we are to construct a personal mission statement that will guide us in our Child and youth care practice. The paper must include the following: 1. 2 values that have significance in my life(mine will be respect and honesty) 2. We are to discuss how they were developed( I was raised by my grandmother so mine where developed there) 3. 2 beliefs that we hold that guide us in our life(mine will be that everyone deserves a second chance in life, and that family plays a major role in the success of a child) 4.How were these beliefs developed? (through experiences) 5. How will these values and beliefs impact the people which I will serve( I want to work with vulnerable kids within schools) 6. What are the possible negative and positive implications of your values and beliefs with the people you will serve? 7. Write a personal statement(2-5 sentences) that illustrates your personal/professional values and beliefs.(this doesn’t have to be a separate page, if it can fit at the bottom of the impact page). The paper is to be written in APA 7. It must also include an abstract(this will be one of the pages in the 7. It must include 3 or more scholarly references(journal articles). You can use information from CYCnet as well if you like as this will be accepted references. So a reference page as well. The paper format could take the form of any of the following options: Option#1 1. Identify/describe your values and beliefs(Ref-How does other research support your ideas.) 3. How did your values/beliefs develop(state life experiences) 4. Potential impact(negative and positive) 5.
