As mentioned in the weekly overview, we work for the people we provide a service/support to. In order to have an effective program model, we need to pay attention to what people are saying they need, give them consistent opportunities to express themselves and then respond with improvements whenever possible.
This mindset can be a paramount shift in service delivery.
Think about your own observations and if you have heard staff of a program telling people what they need and doing more talking than listening. Conversely, are you hearing questions like how we can make your time with us more comfortable, how can I help your overall wellness, what do you want to work on today, thank you so much for being here, etc..
You are the CEO/Director of an organization that does not normally speak or interact directly with program participants, but were given the chance to. What would you ask?
Please list three questions that you would take the opportunity to ask participants that would allow you to improve how your program assists people. Explain why those are the most important questions to ask.
