The Human Genome Project has helped to identify disorders that are associated with each of the human chromosomes.

Be patient—it may take a minute or two for the page to load. Once you are on the site, look at any chromosome to view the disorders that are associated with that chromosome.
For this assignment choose any one chromosome. Then, select one disorder that is associated with that chromosome. Then, in at least a one page, double-spaced, paper, provide the following information:
1. The number of the chromosome that you have chosen
2. The disorder associated with that chromosome
3. Demographic information for that disorder (e.g. the percentage of the population that suffers from the disorder, gender difference)
4. The symptoms of that disorder
5. A brief description of how that disorder is managed or treated
Be sure to address all the points presented in the instructions. Also, make sure to write in complete sentences and provide paragraphing as you would for an essay. Do not provide a list or outline, and do not include a verbatim copy of my questions or numbering.
You will need to use additional online sources to obtain the information about the disorder that you describe. When you use any outside material, you MUST express the material IN YOUR OWN WORDS. Otherwise, you are plagiarizing. Also, be sure to provide an APA style reference for any material that you have adapted and incorporated into your own work. This includes information that you take from your textbook. If you have any doubt, consult the syllabus or check with me. I have posted instructions for APA style referencing under Course Materials.
