Explore the phenomena of interest of prevention of STIs through STI testing in adolescence and young adults. STIs have been on the rise in teens and young adults for decades due to general unawareness, lack of knowledge, and an increase of behavioral risk factors. Being on tract to Family Nurse Practitioner/Emergency Nurse Practitioner I will run into this topic heavily throughout my career. It is imperative to expound on the increase of routine STI testing for this population. I currently live in the Las Vegas Valley (and will most likely practice here during my career), as we all may know Las Vegas is also known as “Sin City”. STIs are at a prominent high here in the valley and could be prevented more by way of Research,EBP,QI, and implementation.
