This course will enable a student to pursue a particular gerontology topic in depth through independent research and writing. I am thinking I would like topic to be about abuse and working can be formally or informally in a setting facing burnout and when do we draw the line between accepting what is happening/ and addressing it…. and where is the supervision To guide this research and culminating research paper, the following deliverables are part of the course. Timelines for these to be submitted to be discussed with the instructor. 1. (10%) Gerontological topic selection and approval a. Apply the principles and actions required to produce an original thesis research paper on a gerontological topic. b. Determine an appropriate thesis question and topic to develop an original research paper based on the course thesis guidelines. c. Identify specific areas for further exploration related to the topic that will answer the research/thesis question. 2. (20%) Framework / outline for research paper a. Begin to gather and select scholarly resources for the topic in general and more specifically to further discussion on other areas related to the topic. b. Identify key concepts and focus research activities to answer questions that further explain the topic. c. Establish specific sub headings and begin to insert relevant research to support the key concepts related to the thesis question.
