Assignment
Identify and think about stories of injustice from the recent news cycle, from past history, or from your own personal experience. Focus on a story that is important to you and that raises interesting questions about the basic structure of society and how people should live.
Write about the story. Your writing should answer the following three questions. Aim for a complete paragraph for each question.
What is your source for this story and how do you know the source is reliable? (Why do you trust the source?)
What makes this a story of injustice and what does the story tell us about the nature of justice? (What does justice mean in the context of this story?)
What lessons do you draw from the story and how do you think we as a society should respond?
Format
Include the citation (or bibliographical information) for any sources that you cite.
Your writing should be about 1 page in length, double-spaced in a standard (e.g. Arial) 12-point font.
