Directions: write a 4-6 page paper on one of the topic listed below. The paper should have an introduction with brief background information, a sentence that gets the readers attention, and a
thesis statement that indicates the direction of the paper. Your last sentence in your introduction should be your thesis.
Read my instructions carefully; compare means to discuss similarities while contrast means to discuss differences. Also, pay attention to the words how, what, and analyze; they have specific meanings. External conflicts mean problems between individuals or individuals and society, but an internal conflict is a problem a person has within himself/herself.
Remember to write your thesis statement at the end of the introduction, and it should include key terms to indicate what will be discussed throughout your paper. Each body paragraph needs a topic sentence that will let the reader know what will be discussed in that paragraph, so pay attention to the wording of the topic sentence. Use transitional words-also, next, moreover, in addition- as you move from one work or character within a paragraph so the reader will know who and what you are talking about.
You must write a conclusion. Follow MLA format for this paper.

Topic-
Compare and contrast the friendship of Gilgamesh and Enkidu and the friendship of Achilles and Patroculus. In doing so, consider the effect the friendship has on the men, 2) the effect that the death of the friend has on the remaining man, and 3) what do they learn about dealing with death.
