A major objective for companies that have a mission of selling is to motivate the sales force. While many factors encourage these people, one of the primary factors is the compensation plan that describes how they will be rewarded for their efforts. Therefore, you will need to research a large publicly traded organizations sales force and compensation plan. Use the University of Baltimore Library to research a publicly traded company for which you would like to work, then evaluate the company compensation plan to determine how it could be improved. Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you: 1. To motivate the sales force to produce the highest number of clients, describe three (3) advantages of a total reward approach. Then, you will create a base pay strategy to support the sales force. 2. Describe the influences on the sales force that are targeted with your revised compensation strategy. 3. Assess the value-added formula and describe how it would impact your strategy. 4. Based on your revised strategy, which bases of pay will be used to support your Salesforce, and why do you believe it will be successful? 5. Determine the most beneficial ratio of internally consistent and market consistent compensations systems for the company you selected. 6. Make two (2) recommendations for improving the effectiveness of the discretionary benefits provided by the company you selected. 7. Evaluate the types of employer-sponsored retirement plans and health insurance programs provided by the company you selected and compare them to that company’s major competitors. 8.
