Write a discussion paper on Kentucky Comprehensive Listening Test ANALYSISInstructions
The Kentucky Comprehensive Listening Test (KCLT) is designed to evaluate your auditory listening skills. So, there is no video on this test–only audio. If you rely heavily on visual cues, you may find this test to be especially challenging. However, you may find yourself limited to audio cues in many of your day-to-day listening experiences. Identifying your strengths and weaknesses will assist you in improving your skills.

The three areas of listening comprehension that the KCLT assesses include short-term listening, short-term listening with rehearsal, and interpretive listening. Don’t be surprised when you hear a considerable amount of background noise in the second portion of parts I and II. Keep in mind that you need to interpret and analyze your test results in your application essay and/or other assignments outlined by your instructor.

Note that in the original test format, students listened to a cassette recording in a face-to-face classroom setting. You will hear references to a tape recording, an answer sheet, seating arrangements, and example questions. You will also hear the narrator ask students who cannot hear the questions or instructions to raise their hands. In our reproduction of the test for online use, we have deliberately presented the audio recording as it was originally administered. You may disregard the portions of the recording that do not apply to your test-taking environment.
