Respond to the following discussion question for this module:
As funeral professionals, we need to maintain a certain standard of cleanliness in the preparation room to control microbial growth as part of our duty toward public health and sanitation. In this module, we discussed the different levels of decontamination, as well as different physical and chemical methods of decontamination.
Question 1: Discuss what a reasonable level of decontamination in the preparation room would be.
Question 2: What methods we can use to achieve a reasonable level of decontamination? Be specific and give examples (physical/chemical methods, etc).
Question 3: Achieving a sterile embalming room environment is possible if you have the time, funds, and personnel. Should the average funeral home expect to maintain a sterile preparation room as a hospital would expect to have a sterile operating room or would a sanitary embalming room do just fine?
Consider time, necessity, and financial aspects to craft your response.
