1. Based on the ABA Model Rules, and NY Rules of Professional Conduct, what do you believe technology competence entails?
2. In the first article by Geib, “Legal Ethics and Technology: The Duty of Competency, why does the author state that technology is embedded or tied to legal ethics?
3. In the second article, author DeRbus discusses how the increase use of technology in the legal environment in the US and abroad demands ethical conduct in its use. Please explain.
4. In the last article listed below by Author Macaulay, What Is A Lawyer’s Duty Of Technology Competence? Lawyer Steven Puiszis listed several broad areas in which lawyers are expected to demonstrate technological competency. Please provide at least one more suggestion and explain why you believe your suggestion(s) is important. In the same article lawyer Ivy Grey focuses on the problem of incompetency. What specifically does she state as examples of this?
5. Based on your readings of the articles and the rules as well as your own experiences, what does a lawyer really need to know about technology?
