Professor’s note on topic:
Write a paper on Historically, humans invented writing to preserve messages, instructions, and narratives, since spoken language “disappears in the air” after the words are said. Modernly, however, humans have become capable of recording speech, thus, solving that original problem.
Is there any need for writing in a world where we can record messages and narratives and where we can watch YouTube videos of people instructing others to build and/or cook nearly anything imaginable? Provide arguments for your viewpoint.
MY TOPIC/VIEWPOINT:
I would like the paper to argue that we NEED writing.
Example:
– people living in poverty who do not have access to a cellphone or a computer need books and paper articles to study.
– People with a hearing aid, who can’t rely on audio, need writing as well…
and whatever other reason you can think of why we need writing.
