In the Final Project scenario (see this week’s Learning Resources), you are the director of an Adult Learning Program at the One-Stop Community Education Center. You are responsible for developing a proposal on how the Bridges to Careers in Healthcare and Business program that was discontinued should be reinstituted and improved. One important section of a good proposal is a discussion of the historical data and information in which you focus on the events that lead to the closing of the program and the reestablishment of that program.
For this Assignment:
Review this week’s Learning Resources, including the “Historical Data for Program Closure” document and the virtual “Grand City Community,” the context of the Historical Data
For additional context on Bridges to Careers and related Career Pathway programs in adult education, refer to Alamprese & Cheng (December 2020) in this week’s Learning Resources
Reflect on the important factors you need to consider when working with adult learners
Reflect on the data and information needed to prepare the proposal
Consider the program at the One-Stop Community Education Center that was discontinued
By Day 7
Submit a 1- to 2-page paper in which you describe the historical data and information of the One-Stop Community Education Center. Describe how, until recently, the Community Education Center offered an adult learning program in Bridges to Careers in Healthcare and Business. Explain what you might have done to avoid having to discontinue the program. What strategies might you have implemented immediately? Draw from your understanding of adult learner characteristics, adult learning and development theory, and from the context of the virtual “Grand City Community.”
