Teacher leaders often take on many different roles and responsibilities. One possible task that a teacher leader may be asked to take on would be to develop, organize, and implement an event for the school community that would involve all stakeholders. In this assignment, you utilize your leadership skills and develop an event that you could easily implement at your school. Refer back to your responses in the Wk 3 Discussion Global Knowledge as you complete this assignment.
Scenario: Your principal has accepted your proposal for an effective global knowledge program that you discussed in the Week 3 discussion prompt. Your principal has asked you to create a kickoff event for the program you suggested. Possible structures might include a schoolwide global literacy night, charity event, global presentation fair, or other community event.
(For my assignment I would to present a community event for Milwaukee Public Schools where we could do a Study Abroad Milwaukee for K-8 schools
So the name of my Project will be STUDY ABROAD MILWAUKEE
I work at Greenfield Bilingual in Milwaukee Which is a Hispanic school (1711 S. 35th st. Milwaukee Wi.)
We would have a 1 day virtualcommunity event that we would have schools from all over Milwaukee learn about their each others cultures, languaes, dances, food. Each school will be given a time slot that they will use to empower other schools to showcase their culture, students, dance, art and so on
We would advertise it as Study Abroad Milwuakee This day will be featured Virtually so all schools can participate
Create a 12 -13 slide multimedia presentation, (using Microsoft PowerPoint) about the kickoff event that your principal can share with district personnel to promote the program and provide a glimpse of your vision for the event. FOR one of the slides maybe make a template other schools or teachers from our school could use to create a slide of their own. Connect the events activities to academic standards and curricular requirements and integrate multiple classrooms and content areas around your campus.
