find two or three research articles using the following criteria:
The articles must all focus on the same at-risk group.
The resources you select should be fairly recent (i.e., published no earlier than 2000).
The articles you select must be from a peer-reviewed journal.
At least one of your articles must be an actual research study (i.e., one in which actual raw data is collected and not a study review or meta-analysis).
Examine individual, family, and community factors that build resilience in youth who are at risk for failing class because English is their second language. Suggest how government policy may be changed to promote academic resilience in this community.
You must summarize each of the articles in the essay:
Who are the participants (at-risk group)?
What adverse outcomes are explored in the article, and how are they measured?
How are the authors exploring adversity and risk in this article (study methodology)?
What resilience factors do they discuss, and which adverse outcomes did they mitigate? State whether the resilience factors are individual, family, or community and how they are measured.
Once you have summarized your articles, compare and contrast the research and specifically the resilience factors they discussed (i.e., what similarities did you find? what differences?).
What were some of the study limitations?
What are you left wondering? This should be part of your conclusion and be a set-up for whatever it is you will be proposing in your Part 4 of the Final Project.
