Who do you feel faces more social pressure and expectations: men or women? While your book insists that the social forces working against women are much more damaging and subtly treacherous than those that affect men, do you necessarily agree? Why or why not? Think about how these expectations are disseminated through the media, school, and the family. Apply concepts and relevant terminology to craft a sound argument for one position or the other; either that men face more pressure and expectations, or that women do. In replying to your peers, you must choose someone who argued for the same position (same gender) you did. Respectfully point out where their analysis may be off track, and/or why they should be convinced that the opposite position (other gender) is the more sound analysis.
