Please choose two of them and explain their general historical (economic, social, cultural, and political) significance, devoting a separate essay to each. Your discussions should analyze the wider arguments being presented in the article while drawing upon other texts from the course as well, both the scholarly essays and the various primary sources which served us over the semester. Citations and references can be included in the text or relegated to footnotes, at your discretion. Each essay should be restricted in length to between three to five pages, double-spaced and in a 12-point font.
