This course has provided the student with information on case presentation and oral presentation. This assignment is to showcase the
clinical concepts the student has come to understand through one’s experience in the clinical setting as an advanced practice nursing
student. Please remember,
this is not a reflective paper (“I, we, me”), but a scholarly assessment of the learned concepts of the course.
Assignment Criteria:
Develop a Power Point presentation that includes the following criteria:
1. Discuss a patient’s chief complaint, presenting symptoms, reason for admission to the hospital.
2. Oral presentation should be based on the guidelines provided in the University of California San Diego (USCD) link, as well
as in the document Developing Oral Case Presentation Skills: Peer and Self Evaluations as Instructional Tools.
3. Describe the patient’s hemodynamic status, and the reason for admission to a given unit within the hospital.
4. As per the guidelines for oral case presentation, develop a list of differential diagnoses, as well as the most highly suspected
diagnosis; this content should be included within the appropriate section of your case presentation.
5. As per the guidelines, please discuss your assessment and plan for this patient.
8. For presentation clarification, include presenter’s notes in the click to add section to explain the slide.
9. The PowerPoint presentation should not be more than 15 slides (excluding the title slide and reference slide) and 7-10 minutes
in length. Be complete and concise. Use bulleted statements not complete sentences or paragraphs. The length of your
presentation will also depend on the setting, as per the UCSD guidelines.
10. Use APA format for PPT, which always includes a title slide, a reference slide, and APA requirements. Resources found
in APA Documents/Resources.
11. A minimum of 5 references will be required for this assignment. References should be from scholarly peer-reviewed journals
and be less than five (5) years old
