You will be asked to write a 300-word Integrative abstract that synthesizes the assigned empirical articles from Week 5 WITH the NEW article you were assigned for your Timed QALMRI. You should identify the key questions, findings and implications of the assigned empirical articles + New article for Week 5.
Therefore, please integrate the following 3 empirical articles:
1) Thomsen, L., Frankenhuis, W. E., Ingold-Smith, M., & Carey, S. (2011). Big and mighty: Preverbal infants mentally represent social dominance. Science, 331(6016), 477-480.Links to an external site.
2) Powell, L. J., & Spelke, E. S. (2013). Preverbal infants expect members of social groups to act alike. Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 110(41), E3965-E3972.Links to an external site.
3) The New article you are assigned when you do the TIMED QALMRI
This assignment will be graded on a 10-point scale and is worth 12% of your final course grade.
Word count does NOT include citations and references (must be APA 6th edition for in-text citaitons- we have some resources in a Module for APA style if you have questions about this.) Do not worry about indentations (due to a limitation of Canvas text).

Tips/ Ideas for writing the integrative abstract: the following list (see below) can be used as a guide.
Clear introduction of phenomenon
Clear descriiption of tension/issue/gap from literature
Emphasize gap/problem to be addressed by the studies
State directly the research findings and general conclusions supported
Do NOT use quotes– please write everything in your own words
Please note that some of these parts may be more important to emphasize than others, depending on the selection of readings you are assigned. Therefore, your challenge is to know not only which of the main points to highlight, but also discuss the relationship between the articles and the potential implications of the findings.
Please do *not* just paraphrase the abstracts that were written for each of the articles.
Formatting: do not worry about formatting, as canvas will not allow double spacing or indentation. You will not be penalized for this.
