Discuss the various approaches to leadership and different leadership
theories. But what kind of a leader are you? What theories appeal to you most and
why? You’ll explore these questions through this graded project.
The purpose of this project is to help you assess the leadership skills and behavior that you
currently possess and the type of leadership approach that you would like to incorporate in
the future.
There are questionnaires and instructions to help you assess your skills. The grading
method and submission procedures are detailed for you. Completing this project will help you
hone your leadership skills.

Graded Project

Your project must be submitted as a Word document (.docx, .doc)*. Your project will be individually
graded by your instructor and therefore will take up to a few weeks to grade. Be sure that each of your
files contains the following information:
Your name
Your student ID number
The exam number
Your email address
To submit your graded project, follow these steps:
Log in to your student portal.
Select Take Exam next to the lesson you’re working on.
Find the exam number for your project at the top of the Project Upload page.
Follow the instructions provided to complete your exam.

Purpose
The purpose of this project is to assess your current leadership skills and explore the type of
leader that you would like to be in the future.
Essay Questions
Part 1
Complete the Leadership Behavior Questionnaire in Chapter 4 of the textbook and evaluate
your answers in an essay of at least 1,000 words. You must include the following three
components in your essay:
1. What you feel are the five most important questions in the questionnaire for a leader
and why?
2. An explanation of what your task and relationship scores indicate about your approach
to leadership.
3. A descriiption of how this course has influenced your views in three areas addressed in
the questionnaire.
Part 2
Describe the kind of leader that you would like to become in at least 1,000 words. Include the
type of employment position that you would like to obtain and the type of leadership role that
you would like to perform in that position. Include at least four of the following concepts in
your essay in a relevant way:

Situational approach
Transformational leadership
Leadership ethics
Team leadership
Gender and leadership
Inclusive Leadership

Format
Create your graded project using Microsoft Word or a Word-compatible program. Your
project should include 1-inch margins and be double-spaced with 12-point Times New
Roman font.
Add the following header information on the first page:
1. Your name
2. Your student ID number
3. The course name (BUS350 Supervision and Leadership)
4. Project number
5. The date
The content of your graded project should begin two lines below the header information.
References should be provided and formatted in APA style.
