Your thesis statement (directly answering the prompt) should appear in your first paragraph (the introduction) and restated in the sixth paragraph (the conclusion). Organize your essay by formulating topic sentences for paragraphs 2-5 that back up your argument, then include information or quotations from primary sources in the body paragraphs to back up the topic sentence of that paragraph.
