11. Research Paper: Literature Review
Paper Overview: You are required to write a 2,500-word literature review research paper, which integrates information from assigned research articles and case material from a book (see 1. Course Readings). It will account for 20% of your course grade. You may choose one of three topics, for each of which a collection of 8 scientific journal article resources has been assembled, available on Blackboard.
Research Paper Topics: (You must choose from one of these three topics)
1. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): Its nature and treatment
2. Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD): Its nature and treatment
3. Resilience: Its meaning and promotion
Assigned Articles: Assigned journal articles for each topic can be accessed on Blackboard under Research Paper Resources. You must use, cite, and reference all 8 assigned research articles and the book (case studies). You may add to these. The essential point of the paper is to present (meaningfully synthesize) research from the articles and use case material from the book to give examples of findings and concepts from the research articles. Citing fewer than these assigned 8 articles will result in reduced points.
