Developmental Biography Part 1: (20 points or 10% of the grade)
You will be observing the infant/ child and interviewing parent or guardian and write a 3-5 double spaced page paper (excluding cover page and references) describing the development between your client’s conception and age 5. Consider what the textbook says about development at these ages versus the client’s life experience. You may use the information from the power points and or text to organize your thoughts. The paper should cover all three areas of development at each stage namely physical/biological, cognitive, and emotional/ social development. Please see the projected course schedule on pages 18- 19 for the due date of this assignment.
I highly recommend you to choose a 4 or 5 year old so that you can sufficiently cover all three stages of development. You have the freedom to develop your own interview questions. You may want to organize your material into Introduction, Biological and prenatal development, Cognitive development ( with emphasis on Piaget’s stages), Psycho-Social Development ( with emphasis on Erickson’s stages), and conclusion.
