You may have noticed that some of the readings have discussed a process of assessment design and development that is often based on The Standards guidelines: https://www.apa.org/science/programs/testing/standards
These standards are set more so for large-scale assessments but have implications for classroom assessment. In Schissel, De Korne, and López-Gopar (2018), we adjusted the use of the assessment design cycle based on teachers’ expertise in rubric creation and implementation. We are going to focus on one version of the assessment design cycle for this assignment.
You can find a powerpoint, a video of me describing the powerpoint, and a screenshot picture of the assessment design cycle in this google drive folder: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1W0RjCVZPLRZgbeGkrZ1iIaKHd7L2_qLd (Links to an external site.)
Similarly, this assignment asks you to adjust the assessment design cycle to reflect your perspective. Think back to our previous readings and about how you have created and used classroom assessments in your teaching or experienced it as a student. Then, either edit the sample assessment design cycle provided or create your own visual representation of assessment creation and use based on your practice and experience. Remember, we are focusing on classroom assessments–rather than large-scale assessments.
Please add your project to the class google slide presentation: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1KunW9-AhWtEC26V6amnKfE1uc3hkEQOgrRnKBmhDz3s/edit#slide=id.g1272bedc388_0_172 (Links to an external site.)
Slide 1: Upload a picture link to a picture to show your revised assessment cycle visual (10 points) and in the notes section, type a 100-250 word descriiption about what you created and why (10 points)
Slide 2: Critique the predominant assessment cycle model in relation to your proposed revisions and in the notes section explain the connections to 2-3 class readings with citations in 100-250 words (10 points)
Be prepared to present/discuss your project with the whole class
I have attached the other students’/my teacher’s examples & Teacher’s video of her presentation below (Zoom mp4 file), BUT please don’t copy it & try to come up with your own. I have also attached the readings I would like this to be based off of. Please also create a PowerPoint presentation that I can add to the Google slide.
