Part 1: Discuss the evaluation process for students suspected of possessing an intellectual disability to include: 1) What areas would be assessed? 2) What potential assessments would be administered? 3) Why and how can alternative assessments be utilized? 4) Who would administer these assessments? 5) Who would you obtain information about the referred student? 6) Why is it important for validity purposes to administer various types of assessments?
Part 2: Discuss the similarities and differences between an intellectual disability, a developmental delay, and a specific learning disability. How might the assessments vary within the evaluation process for each of these conditions?
