Write an annotated bibliography that gives an account of the research that has been done on ONE of the following topics studied in the module: • Propaganda, Cinema and War • Film Noir • Italian Neo-realism • Transformation of the Hollywood System • Scandinavian Art Film • Japan in the International Eye Your bibliography must consist of an alphabetical list of research sources (books, book chapters, journal articles). The word count for the annotated bibliography is 1,200 words. Each citation should provide a concise summary and critical evaluation of the source that you are annotating: Locate the bibliographical sources (books, book chapters, journal articles) on your topic. You should select 2 or 3 items and write an annotation of 400-600 words approx. per item. 1. Examine and review the actual items. Choose works that provide a variety of perspectives on your topic 2. You must cite the full bibliographic citation. (Harvard referencing) 3. Write a concise annotation that summarises the central theme, content and scope of the book or chapter or article. • outline the main arguments and ideas put forward by the authors • identify any key aspects as well as conclusions made by the author(s) • critically assess the ideas and arguments that are being presented by the author(s) – this means that you should present your critical views of the text you are annotating • give your final appreciation of the bibliographical source.
