As a continuation and finalizing of the research in the HW#6 rough draft, students will have a one-on-one meeting with the instructor to review the content developed. As a review of the information started in HW#6, students should have researched and taken a deep dive into the financial analysis and balance sheet of their case study retailer and their competitors. This will include their sales history, profit growth, overall balance sheet and debt load. Students should have outlined this information in preparation to incorporate it into the final pitch deck and final case study. Financial resources should include Yahoo Finance (check out the articles on your retailer in their site), Marketplace, the retailer’s 2021 Annual Report or a current quarterly report, SEC information etc. Here is a file with some other questions to consider when analyzing the financials of your retailer.
Please make sure that the following guidelines have been followed –

Key Issues – financial analysis defines and/or uncovers strengths and weaknesses. Identifies problems and opportunities in competing in a competitive global marketplace. Focus should include their annual/quarterly income revenue, cost of goods sold, gross margin dollars, expenses, net profit dollars before taxes.
Content – writing of the assignment indicates the student has a clear understanding of financial importance and uses terminology correctly.
Format should be in paragraphs to describe each topic of the retailer’s financials. Charts may also be included to show financial growth or loss. Financial statements or charts illustrating the points listed in key issues may be included to show differences from year to year or quarter to quarter. If statements are taken directly from a report, make sure that these are in-text cited. A bullet point timeline is also an option to illustrate changes in financial strategies. As with all assignments, please make sure to include in-text cites for all statistics and a works cited page.
