Research online job boards for a job you might want to apply for. Use Monster, CollegeRecruiter, Career-Builder, or CollegeGrad. Check AACC Resources for job openings.
Find five or more job listings in your field. Copy the information on to a Word Document. (You will put this in an Appendix on your paper).
Review the skills requested. How often do the skills listed relate to Communication, Teamwork, Computer Skills? Discuss your findings in a business paper. What are the most frequently requested skills? Make the connection between specific job requirements and communication. For example, if the job lists team work as a requirement explain how communication skills are needed in team work. Do not limit your paper to only those requirements that state ‘communication.’ Look at every requirement and examine how communication fits in with it.
