Given the need for entry-level education in Health Information Management (HIM), it’s essential for healthcare providers and other HIPAA-covered entities to ensure patient information privacy and security. HIM involves medical coding and billing, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and handling customer requests for Personal Health Information.
The research article must include a needs assessment, content and technology planning, implementation, and other program evaluation processes of systematically collecting, analyzing, and using data to review the effectiveness and efficiency of undergraduate HIM programs in the USA within the last five (5) years; and compare HIM distance (online/hybrid) programs and students to that of on-campus ones.
The research study must use all publicly available scholarly and academic information regarding undergraduate HIM program evaluation, measurement methods are best categorized into direct and indirect measures. Both measures can provide a more holistic view of the impacts of a program. There are also four common types of data that are analyzed in educational research and evaluation: observations, artifacts, historical or institutional records, and self-report.
