Listed below are jobs held by the women in my family listed chronologically.
Paternal great-grandmother Eugene: born in 1897 in Paris, France, homemaker, mother of 4.
Maternal great-grandmother Lily: born in 1915 in Costa Rica. homemaker, mother of 3.
Paternal grandmother Maria Eugenia: born in Costa Rica in 1920, homemaker, mother of 7, died at age 78.
Maternal grandmother Lilia: born in Costa Rica, married at the age of 15, mother of 9, homemaker.
Mother Ines: born in Mason City, Iowa, graduated high school, and attended University for one year until the age of 19. Got married at age 19 and moved from Costa Rica to Madison, Wisconsin to raise a family. Mother of two, homemaker.
Aunt Jessica: homemaker, graduated high school and studied Spanish translation & interpretation, as well as foreign languages, including English and French.
Aunt Marichen: homemaker and founder of www.giamala.org, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing psychological, emotional, social, and educational support to young patients diagnosed with cancer.
Aunt Lina: graduated high school and earned a degree in photography and psychology, currently works as a realtor and property manager. Mother of 4, owns and operates a Yoga retreat beach home on the Pacific side of Costa Rica.
Aunt Marinova: homemaker, mother of three.
Aunt Marcela: worked many years as a secretary for Chiquita Brands International Inc. and jointly owned and operated a salad dressing brand and Bed & Breakfast alongside her husband in Costa Rica.
