Islam question :
Most of Islamic theology is about the sin of shirk. Discuss why it is important for Muslims to avoid shirk, including references to other topics we have studied in Islam. Give three examples of how one can commit shirk.
Christianity question:
Discuss the political and religious situation of Jesus’ time. How did Judaism’s expectations about a Messiah affect the religious landscape? How did the Roman Empire affect the politics of the Judaism? What kind of activities did Jesus engage in to spread his message? Who opposed him and why?
Each paragraph for each of them
The paragraph’s content should be summarized in a topic sentence that occurs early in the paragraph. Do not assume the reader is the professor who already knows the material well. Define terms that an average educated person would not know.
Both direct quotes and specific information paraphrased must be cited with the page number, for example (Fisher 34). You should have at least one direct quote per paragraph; more is fine. Quotations should be brief. Your job is to write a good paragraph that puts together what you have learned, not copy and paste blocks of text from Fisher. No more than about 30% of your paragraph should be quoted material.
Give a full answer exploring the question in detail. Use a strong topic sentence.
Clarity
Use full sentences and show transition between ideas. Define terms.
Citations
Cite Fisher properly, including the page number. Quote correctly as in the Research Essay. Avoid mimicing the Review Sheet’s language.
