Write an essay : Membership in the European Union has divided the left in Britain since it joined the European Economic Community in 1973. However, the recent debates over Brexit have proved especially rancorous, and have exposed deep fissures within the Labour Party deeply. Drawing on existing debates (see below for some examples), please address whether the future of the left is better served by membership in the EU or by Brexit.
