3-Long distance trade (ex: trade between villages, cities, and countries is more
civilized than trade within villages, cities, and countries)
4- Writing (ex: Cultures with methods of symbolic communication like writing are
superior to oral cultures)
5-Monotheism or belief in one God: (ex: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam). Note that
Europeans assume that monotheism is superior to polytheism or belief in more than
one God.
