Write a two-page essay: one page summarizing a current event from a reputable news source, one page connecting that current event to any topic or event that we have covered in this course. This essay is an opportunity for you to make historical connections across time and space. But, do not use any outside resources for the historical part of this essay. That part of the essay should be based solely on the class readings and/or video lectures.
