Description of subjects other abilities (disabilities) and STRENGTHS. Disabilities are areas of weaknesses or risk factors that might exacerbate addiction such as teenagers underdeveloped brain. Women who become intoxicated faster than men so addictions can also develop faster. Strengths are protective factors that might lessen severity of or impact of addiction such as teenagers have less to lose in addictions because of not being homeowners or employed. Adults may seek treatment sooner because of so much to lose. 5
