Misé-en-scene and Camera shots Choose one scene from an oscar winning movie and write a 3 page (double-spaced) analysis which looks at elements of mise-en-scéne/cinematography and how they contribute to the story. Discuss how any or all of the following elements were used to communicate story, theme or even metaphor: lighting, color, blocking, setting, set décor, costume, props, camera angles and camera movements. Look at the elements that exist in the frame and comment on why these choices may have been made by the director. There is no right or wrong answer with any of these; you will be evaluated on the level of intelligent insight and commentary you can offer about the composition of the scene and what it communicates. Additionally, from that same scene compile a bullet point list describing each shot, and what camera move(s), if any, are utilized.
