Genre- Drama/Sports/Coming of age Theme- College Life, Issues with friends, Family problems, Athlete lifestyle Synopsis: Tyler and Ali have been friends since the beginning of high school and are huge soccer fans. They play different positions on the field. However, they didn’t play for the same college even though they played for the same high school. A girl and his coursework throw Tyler off his game a bit while Ali deals with injury issues and old friends. Both want to really impress scouts from top professional teams in Europe. As time goes on, they find out nothing is an easy ride as their dreams start turning into nightmares. Characters: Tyler- ladies′ man, perfectionist, was raised in an upper middle-class family, lost his mom at 8 years old, at times has too much pride, extroverted. Ali- humble, introverted, can be gullible at times, hangs out with the wrong crowd, raised in a lower middle-class family. Tyler’s Dad- single father, manager of a car dealership, basketball fan, pessimistic. Ali’s Dad- hardworking, optimistic, played soccer when he was younger, plumber. Ali’s Mom- not really into sports but supports Ali in everything, works at nail salon, too nice at times, always stands up for what’s right. Stacy- Tyler′s girlfriend, impatient, college dropout, hopes to marry Tyler one day. Coach Graham- Tyler′s coach, very strict, has a winning history, former professional player, treats Tyler like his own son. Coach Valdes- Ali′s coach, never made it professionally, very calm, treats everyone equally. Jamal- Ali′s old friend, has an ego, jealous of Ali, former basketball star at Ali’s high school.
