Design your own, unique, research activity which attempts to probe deeply into overarching concepts in the field of psychology, and perhaps provide some important and useful conclusions to many of these topics. Acceptable formats include of a video documentary, a Power-point presentation, a talk show format, or any other method used to accurately convey the information you attempted to study. You may work individually, or in a group of no more than five people. Some cool examples to investigate (but you are not limited to): -Bystander Effect (someone else will help so I don’t have to) -Fundamental Attribution Error -The Power of the Situation (Roles in society) -Self –Help Movement -Why People Join Cults -Conformity -Humane Treatment of Animals and Best Farming Practices -Freud—Then, Now, and the Future of Psychoanalysis -Gender Roles -Brain Imaging Techniques -Stereotypes/Cultural Attitudes -Foot-in-door Technique -A—-˃B Problem -Altruism (similar to an “ABC-What would you do?”-Pilots, Special Needs Grocery Helper, etc.) -Cognitive Dissonance Theory -Sports Psychology in Performance of professional/college/high school athletes -Educational Institutions-Differentiated instruction in China, India, Scandinavia vs. United States -Social Influence and Obedience to Authority Figures -Treatment of Disorders—Talk Therapies, Behavioral Modification, Bio-Medical models -Groupthink (Being more influenced by group cohesion than by the realities of the situation) -Deindividuation—Diffusion of Responsibility -Superior Autobiographical Memory -COVID-19, The Pandemic, and its Impact on Mental Health -Teenage/Adult Electronic Addiction and its Effects on Daily Life -The Psychology of Boxing -Military Training Methodologies and its Cognitive Processes -Research on Innovative Teaching of Language/Symbols to Infants/Toddlers -The Effects of Noise, Temperature, or Pollution on our Behavioral or Mental Processes -Analyzing Behavioral Differences Between “City Dwellers” and People From Rural Towns. -Any other aspect of psychology that you think would be a fascinating concept to research or test. (I will provide you with a “thumbs up” or “thumbs down”.)
