On November 19, 2021 after more than 25 hours of deliberation the jury acquitted Kyle Rittenhouse on all five charges he faced after fatally shooting two men and wounding a third. Rittenhouse claimed self-defense and testified on his own behalf.
On November 24, 2021, the trial jury in the fatal death of Ahmaud Arbery, found Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and their co-defendant William “Roddie” Bryan Jr., guilty of murdering Arbery. As in the trial of Rittenhouse, the defendants claimed self-defense.
Compare these tragic events in which human lives were senselessly lost. In your opinion explain whether or not you feel the jurors fairly weighed all the evidence and testimony presented in the Rittenhouse verdict.
