Write an explanatory essay is very basic (which doesn’t mean that there’s no room for creativity). Just pick a theme and explain it to your reader as if you were a teacher. For instance, you might write an explanatory essay on Giussani’s ‘religious sense.’ In such an essay, you would simply provide in your introduction an overall view of what Giussani means by the term, taking three or more points from the reading and our lectures in your body paragraphs to explain the theme. Importantly, this is meant to be a creative exercise. As a teacher explaining this to a reader, be creative with your examples and illustrations.
