Follow these directions to complete Observation 2: Observation #3 Anecdotal Records Directions
Write a Learning Prescription and Thinking Questions, describing how you can offer support or lesson you would create based on what you observed. These are listed at the end of the directions. See above. Write at least 3 sentences for each answer.
Use the 4 developmental areas OR Early Learning Guidelines to help you decide what developmental area you are observing.
Write “hoof notes” while you observe. These are quick jottings done while watching that you rewrite later into an accurate past tense anecdotal record. Include your “hoof notes” in your homework assignment that you turn in.
Bring this letter with you to be signed ECED &190 Anecdotal Letter-Garrison.doc You must scan when complete and upload to the assignment. If you are observing family members or friends due to COVID, please describe the setting and put the age of the child at the beginning of each anecdotal record (age and months). If you are using the video links I emailed to you, please list which video(s) you viewed. Guess the age of the child in years and months. In person observation is definitely the best, but videos help during the pandemic.
