Assignment you had the opportunity to comprehensively examine a major
criminal justice policy issue. Through an in-depth analysis of research, you
had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of policy issue and
potential solutions to resolve this issue. This assignment will provide the
opportunity for you to display your ability to apply the constructive feedback
that you received from the Policy Issue and Solution Paper: Draft Assignment
toward this assignment. This assignment provides the opportunity to gain a
deeper understanding of the potential solutions to a major policy issue in
criminal justice.
In this final assignment, you will want to apply all the
feedback that you received on the Policy Issue and Solution Paper: Draft
Assignment and build upon your research into the policy issue problem
that you previously selected. This assignment enables you to display the
knowledge that you have built-in class toward addressing a policy issue
that exists in the criminal justice field and provides the opportunity for you
to develop applicable and meaningful solutions to this problem. This assignment
will require you to build upon the policy issue that you identified on the Policy
Issue and Solution Paper: Draft Assignment, which may include a major
criminal justice policy issue (excluding the death penalty, legalization of
marijuana, or gun control) found in your research or minor policy issues, major
policy issues, minor budget issues, major budget issues, equipment
implementation, and any issue dealing with a policy proposal. Major sections of
this assignment must be a Problem, Significance, and Solution section that are
outlined with APA formatted section headings. Also, please note that 3 policy
solutions should be provided. 3 choices: do nothing, incremental approach, and
full implementation and each should have its own section headings. The
solution section of the paper must have enough of an explanation of the
solution so that an executive would be able to make an informed decision from
your explanation. The solution must also have sub-themes with section headings.
Some subthemes are impact on the department, impact on external
stakeholders, and impact on the budget.
