Instructions:
Write a 4-5 page paper discussing the importance of employee
motivation, the applicability of two motivational theories, and
potential motivational interventions for the job you analyzed. Your
paper should include the following:
1. Address why maintaining/enhancing employee motivation is a
worthwhile pursuit (i.e., why is motivation important for
organizations?) (~1 paragraph).
2. Identify 2 motivational theories (discussed in class and/or the
textbook) that you think are most applicable to motivating
people to perform well in this job (~1.5 pages).
a. Describe each theory in detail
b. Describe why each theory is relevant to this job
3. Elaborate on one of the motivational theories from above.
Using this theory, propose ways in which the job can be
improved to better motivate employees. In other words,
explain some specific ways this theory could be utilized to
make changes to the job that will boost employee motivation
(~2 pages).
4. Each group member must fill out confidential individual
assessment scores (see “Individual Assessment” survey link on
Blackboard).
There is no strict page limit, but a well-developed paper will be
approximately 4-5 pages in length. Your ideas should be informed
and supported by theoretical and empirical research. To this end,
please incorporate at least 2 scholarly sources (e.g., via Google
Scholar https://goo.gl/KVNS 1d) beyond your textbook.
