Its analysis of a dataset of recently recruited employees of a large bank. Recently allegations of sexiest hiring practises have been levelled against the upper management of the bank, with complaints alleging that men are offered higher starting salaries than woman. I need to analyse the data to determine whether the allegations are correct .
Assignment Format / Style
The research results report must use APA 7th edition format, including:
• Double-spaced text (i.e. double line spacing).
• Times New Roman, 12pt font.
• Margins = 1 inch / 2.54 cm (top, bottom and both sides).
• Include headings.
• All means and standard deviations should be rounded to 1 decimal place (d.p.).
• All other statistical figures should be rounded to 2 d.p. (aside from p values, which
should be 3 d.p.).
Results section
*This must be no longer than 6 pages (double spaced), including all text, tables, and
figures*
For the written assignment, you need to run the appropriate analyses (see below) using the
data provided to answer the research questions and test the hypotheses. Your Results section
should provide a summary of the results from these analyses.
You will need to perform descriptive analyses to test hypotheses 1 and 2 (i.e. null hypothesis
significance tests are not required for these two hypotheses). You will also need to perform
correlational analyses and a multiple regression to fully answer your research question and
test all remaining hypotheses. Remember that you can calculate correlations between multiple
variables in the same correlation matrix 😉
Your Results section should include:
• A description of your primary variables, using descriptive statistics (e.g., means,
standard deviations).
• Figures that show the relationship between work experience and starting salary, and
education level and starting salary.
• A summary of the analyses you used to answer your research questions (and the results
from these analyses).
• Tables, where appropriate (including for your correlation analysis and multiple
regression).
Note that in your Results section you just provide a description of the results. You do not
provide an interpretation of what the results mean for your research question in this section.
Interpretation of results section
*This must be no longer than 2 pages (double spaced).*
This section should provide a brief interpretation of your results, including:
• A brief summary of your main findings.
• Were your hypotheses supported by the results?
• What bearing do the results have on the research questions i.e. what do they tell us
about the relationship between the variables in question, and bank’s hiring practices?
• Identify two other factors you think may impact the relationship between gender and
starting salary, which could in theory account for the result obtained.
