Write an essay based on Wendy Welch’s Fall or Fly: The Strangely Hopeful Story of Foster Care and Adoption in Appalachia, describe the two biggest problems foster children face after being placed with a foster family. Your answer should include specific examples of these problems from the Fall or Fly book. Additional Instructions: Your answer should be in a well-organized essay with multiple paragraphs. It should be clear what you believe the two biggest problems are; in fact, these two problems should be mentioned in the first paragraph of your paper. Do not just list examples of problems with no connection or context. There are a number of correct ways you can answer this question, and I do not expect all students to answer it in the same way. I will be looking for evidence that you read and thought about the book and can back up your statements with examples from the book. Using direct quotes is a great way to show that you’ve read the book; however, you don’t want to use so many direct quotes that you have more direct quotes in your essay than words that are your own.
