Instructions from professor: The floor plan(s) and site plan should show all items listed below. For maximum credit, these should be computer edited and colored (import PDF & edit). All items regardless if color-coded should also be labeled on the plan, as these plans could be copied and the colors won’t show. I do not want any hand drawing*. You should be competent enough to use the basic AUTOCAD skills to produce a professional looking document. *Only exception are those students in the Construction Supervision program who have not had AUTOCAD. In that event I will still expect neatly drawn, readable plan, with items drawn to relevant scale, with a straight edge, and labeled accordingly. For clarity, the minimum size for the site and building plans is 11” x 17”. Take your time and use common sense. These must be readable, appropriate to college work. All items should be drawn to an approximate scale which is relative to other features on the site. At a minimum, the plans must show: Site 1) STUDY GRADING PLAN!!! There are steep slopes, swales, major septic system work and other items to avoid. Make sure you stay on the hotel property and out of the highway right-of-way. 2) Fence around entire site and indicate gates. Ensure you keep them on the site property. 3) Designated parking area for 25 construction employees and 5 for visitor parking 4) Fenced area for material storage outside of building. 5) Construction trailer locations (2 office and 2 storage). Think about how these should be close to entrance to monitor access and deliveries. How are they serviced by utilities? 6) Temporary electric pole(s) and service for office trailers and job trailers (not building). Remember these cost about $1,500 each to install. 7) Sanitation – Porta-Johns location & number based on OSHA regulations. OSHA 1926.51(c)(1). Assume a total workforce of 30, male and female. 8) Construction dumpster locations (LEED project so you will need at least 4 roll offs), cluster so all trash goes to same area for sorting and have easy access for trucks. 9) Delivery area, as close as possible to entrance. 10) Emergency assembly area. Building (every floor) 1) Location of fire extinguishers during construction within the building. Make sure you have enough by standards but not too many because of cost. OSHA 1926.150(c)(1)(i) and (vi). 2) Egress routes from building in case of an emergency and assembly area.
